For those unfamiliar, Vireio Perception lets you take existing games and play them in virtual reality when they weren't designed for that purpose. This complete rewrite of Vireio Perception was primarily made possible by Denis Reischl with support from Grant Bagwell, Simon Brown, Samuel Austin, and Neil Schneider. This is a preliminary release and only works with Fallout 4 and the DirectX 11 API. The game support will dramatically grow as we reactivate features like DirectX 9 and make the Aquilinus profile creation software available. The software will become easier to use, too. DirectX 11 introduced new headaches with the user interface, and limited our ability to resize it compared to what we had available to us with earlier Bethesda Softworks titles like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 3 which ran on DirectX 9. We have ideas on how to get around this problem, but they will take time. For now, some hotkeys were created that zoom in and out so viewers can quickly see the whole HUD when needed. Vireio Perception 4.0 Alpha works on Oculus runtime 1.3.2 and OSVR. OSVR has had mixed results because the driver doesn't seem to inject on 100% of systems, and we are working to diagnose the problem. Also, a handful of elements aren't rendering properly in 3D (e.g. the sky box), and we'll get them ironed out soon. It's not clearly labelled (yet). To start the Fallout 4 profile, click on the grey rectangle. When prompted, the profiles are found in the Vireio "game_profiles" directory. Follow the instructions carefully! OSVR users will have to copy a series of files to the game's binary directory; there is an OSVR instructions file for this in the Vireio Perception "instructions" directory. Here are some important highlights for the driver: Run the drivers with Administrator Permissions. Some have reported that it won't inject otherwise. Vireio menu is accessed with LCTRL+Q. The FOV adjustment hotkeys are F1+F2, and options are saved to "VireioPerception.ini" in the game folder. Added option to zoom out ( LEFT_THUMB or MBUTTON) Added option to zoom in PipBoy (BACK or LSHIFT) Colored border for the game profile button (gray - idle; yellow - injecting; green - injected; red-game closed) Everyone working on this does so on a volunteer basis. Factor in a day job, and there are only so many hours in the day. We have dedicated discussion forums in MTBS so the developers can help diagnose issues and release bug-free drivers. While there are other excited communities interested in Vireio, valuable information is quickly lost with up-votes, down-votes, and the next hot topic. This slows us down. When posting problems in the MTBS forums, always include your specs including CPU, GPU, Operating Sytem, HMD choice, and runtime version number (e.g. SDK version number). Be kind to the team! This is an alpha driver with big improvements to come.
Hallo Forum! HTC Vive owners rejoice! Vireio Perception 4.0 Alpha 2 is out, and we have proudly added room scale support for Fallout 4. Mark your calendars for June 4, 2016 as the day that a VR driver released room scale support in VR for games that were never designed for that purpose. This is HISTORY! Here are the highlights: This still only supports Fallout 4! Once we are happy with this, we will be able to dramitacally diversify the game support. Full OpenVR (HTC Vive) room scale support. Game profile "Fallout4_OpenVR_x64" adds X+Z positional tracking. Game profile "Fallout4_OpenVR_x64_experimental_Y_tracking" adds X+Z and experimental matrix modification Y positional tracking. HUD manipulation for VR mode has been FIXED. There is a special secondary HUD for OpenVR users, but it's still not flawless. SteamVR virtual game screen overlay can be activated on the dashboard. OpenVR fully customizable "VireioPerception_OpenVR.ini" file is automatically created in the game folder. ADDED Steam prediction model support ADDED Vireio Perception predicted tracking solution for both Oculus and OSVR solutions Improved Fallout 4 profile quality. More work is needed. Slight delay added to both Oculus and OSVR tracker to resolve some problems reported by users in official Vireio Perception forums. @edit schon veraltet heute soll die erste Vive Roomscale Version kommen...mal schauen was rauskommt.... http://www.mtbs3d.com/news-2/14996-vireio-vive-room-scale-is-on-the-way
